The world of marketing is ever-changing and always evolving which is why it’s important to always be looking to upgrade and improve on old strategies. With the first half of 2017 coming to a close its time to look on to the second half with these 5 emerging trends that should be added to your existing programs or applied for your upcoming projects.

1. Hey Siri

With Alexa, Google assistant, Siri, and Cortana becoming more and more commonplace in households, customers are no longer only typing keywords to get answers. Asking one of these AI assistants a question gives you a ‘voice’ answer but not a link. Marketers will have to adapt and find ways to generate an ROI from this emerging form of search. Check out this link for ways to combat this.

2. Can You Be More Specific?

Data should be more granular and search-friendly. Businesses are no longer only searching for “marketing firm” they are looking for “SEO marketing firm” or “marketing firm website”.This is an untapped opportunity for businesses; as customers demand more specific and granular knowledge companies that provide it will attract more customers.Focusing in on a few new keywords phrases and dominating them through the addition of new content to the site can go a long way to improve your rankings.

3. Foster Personal Relationships

B2B branding is growing increasingly more personal because the people buying have their job on the line whenever they make a purchase. Making personal connections with your clients is more important for B2B companies than for B2C companies. Your B2B clients won’t be making impulse buys or emotionally affected purchases so developing relationships on a personal level with clients and potential clients will have a greater impact on your overall sales compared to the same effort made by a B2C organization. Making your brand more personable and developing relationships with prospective clients will go a long way to attracting more business.

4. Do it for the Culture

Company culture is more important than ever, especially in B2B organizations. There is no way to fake it, especially with the popularity of review sites. You can’t just let the culture in your company manifest itself. It is important to be actively monitoring and cultivating it to represent your business in the best way. Start by first building a strong brand architecture, including a brand purpose, that you can roll out throughout your company. Building a strong brand, especially brand purpose, will help your employees build a culture aligned with your brand.

5. Make a Connection

The importance of engaging with your customers will only increase as time goes on. Today’s consumer is oversaturated with content and with today’s content creation tools the gap has closed between large business and small ones. The difference will fall in how these organizations connect with consumers either through social media, customer service, or events.Creating and designating specific target consumer profiles can go a long way towards making sure you are reaching the right demographic.

Understanding and applying all these tactics can provide a major boost to your businesses marketing and should help prepare you for the change of the future. Check out some of our other marketing tools here to help make this year your best year.
